The song contestants choose to perform when auditioning for popular talent shows like The Voice is extremely important. Now, it’s needless to say that not even the best musical choice can make up for a lack of talent.
That being said, it’s paramount that contestants choose a song that allows them to showcase their voice and talent. Not only that, but the song also needs to say something about their personality and who they are as a person.
It should encompass their interests, and least but not last, it should be a song they actually enjoy listening to at home, in private. This is especially important in the case of talent shows like The Voice, when the judges don’t see the person performing at the time they are auditioning for a spot in the competition.
Aliyah Moulden, a young contestant in this year’s edition of The Voice, managed to impress everybody with her unlikely music pick for the semifinals. The girl and her coach decided she will sing a powerful Christian song, and judging by the audience’s reaction, it was the best choice possible.
