A Ukrainian pilot became a hero after successfully landing a seriously damaged hailplane. Captain Alexander Akopov took off from Istanbul, Turkey, but after only 10 minutes of flight, a huge hail fell. The aircraft headed for Erkan, Cyprus, and there were 127 passengers on board, plus the flight crew. The plane, an Airbus A320, was endangered by an unusually high hail that broke the windscreen while it was about 1,200 meters high.
