The animal world never cease to amaze when comes down to unlikely friendships, but the way this little hedgehog and a group of foxes befriended is even sweeter, given the circumstances. The odd buddies met up in someone’s backyard, and ever since they enjoy dinner together!
Foxes are a very common sighting in the United Kingdom, so it frequently happens for residents who live in wooded areas to get visited by these lovely animals. It also happened to Lucy Goacher and her family. Noticing how friendly foxes are, the young woman decided to offer them food and that turned them into some regular visitors.
“We used to have fox visitors for years, but like a lot of people we believed they were dangerous creatures,” the woman wrote online. “Yet, a few years ago we realized how gentle they actually are.”
For a couple of years now, Lucy keeps offering free meals to her furry visitor which made themselves as home into the woman’s back garden. But since a free meal is always welcomed, especially when you’re a hungry animal, a few time ago another unusual visitor showed up – a tiny hedgehog. Very shy at first, the tiny animal only approached the food when the four foxes have done eating. Yet, as it turned out they’ve never planned to chase him away, but to befriend him!
“He marched straight through the assembled foxes and started on a bowl,” Lucy said. “I was terrified they’d attack him, but instead they just looked at him with curiosity, like they couldn’t believe his boldness, and they left him alone to munch away.”
But a heartwarming scene in particular surprised Lucy, and reminded her that animals are far better than humans. One of the foxes approached the tiny ‘intruder’ and joined him at supper. The little one was more than happy to share his bowl of food – especially that it came free – and ever since, this adorable group of friends made a habit of dinning on Lucy’s back porch!
“They’re united by their mutual love of free and plentiful food,” the woman said. “Something that can be said for most humans too, I imagine!” Lucy is constantly sharing footages of her adorable visitor on Facebook. You need to watch this!
