Teens today can’t imagine the world without high-speed internet. They are tech-savvy and are used to having the world in the palm of their hands. They do their homework using Google, and rely on information they find on search engines for pretty much everything they do. What’s the capital of Austria? What 300×120? Whatever the question may be, they know they can easily find out the answer with a simple tap on their smartphones.
Well, but things weren’t always this way. There was a time, not very long ago, when you actually had to go to the library and search through volumes and volumes of books and encyclopedias to be able to write an essay for school, for instance.
Kids today don’t know what that was like, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they wouldn’t be able to do research using only encyclopedias if they had to. Or does it?
