One day, a 17-year-old boy, who worked part-time at Pizza Hut, pulled up to his house in a sleek Porsche. His parents, stunned by the sight of the luxury car, immediately questioned him about how he got it.
“Where did you get that car?” they asked, shocked.
The boy replied casually, “I bought it today.”
His mother, both concerned and disbelieving, pressed further, “With what money? A Porsche is far beyond your budget!”
The boy explained, “It’s a used car, and I got it for an incredible deal. I only paid $20 for it.”
His parents were even more astonished. “Who in their right mind would sell a Porsche for $20?” his mother exclaimed.
The boy answered, “The lady who lives up the street. I don’t know her well; she moved in recently. After I delivered her pizza, she offered to sell me the Porsche for $20.”
Curious and alarmed, the parents rushed to the new neighbor’s house to find out why. They found her calmly gardening in the front yard.
The father addressed her, saying, “I’m the father of the boy you sold a Porsche to for $20. We need to know why you did that.”
Without hesitation, the woman explained, “I received a call from my husband this morning. I thought he was on a business trip in Florida, but he told me he ran off to Hawaii with his secretary and has no intention of returning.”
The mother, still puzzled, asked, “What does that have to do with selling our son a Porsche for $20?”
With a satisfied smile, the woman replied, “My husband asked me to sell his new Porsche and send him the money. So, I did.”
