Pentatonix is quite probably the world’s most successful A Capella act. They are dominating the Billboard charts and never seem to run out of ideas on what to do next. Their performances are always fresh and surprising and they always find a way to outdo themselves and get better.
However, it’s not always been smooth sailing the five members of Pentatonix–Scott Hoying, Kevin Olusola, Kirstin Maldonado, Mitch Grassi and Avi Kaplan.
Not a lot of people know this but, but the group’s $200,000 record deal was quickly dropped after they won The Sing-Off competition back in 2011.
But they were determined to follow their passion and keep working on getting their music in front of people. So they turned to YouTube, and then is when things changed forever for them.
The group’s impressive pop-rock covers garnered over 1 billion views, and just three years later, their Christmas album sold over 1 million copies.
Now, Pentatonix seems stronger than ever. They recently released an incredible rendition of “Dancing On My Own,” originally sang by Robyn, which proves that they are only getting started.
According to the caption which accompanies this clip on YouTube, this is one of Pentatonix favorite songs.
