They say that our most precious possessions are not out homes, our cars, or how much money we have in our accounts, but our memories. Our memories are like diamonds in the rough. They keep us going. Whenever life gets hard or we encounter a difficult situation that is hard to overcome, you can always take a stroll down on memory lane and remember all the good things that have happened to you, and all the reasons that make life beautiful.
But what happens if you lose your memory? What is there left then? Well, looking back 60 years is hard for anybody, but for Melvyn Amrine, it’s especially challenging. That’s because Melvyn was diagnosed with Alzheimer three years ago, a diagnose that changed his life, and the life of his wife forever. It was particularly hard for Rose who has to watch the man she spent her entire life loving slowly slipping away.
But there’s something that reminds her that the man she loves is still in there, somewhere. A gesture the man makes every year proves that even though the mind can’t always remember important things, the heart can. This is incredible!
