An AMBER Alert or a Child Abduction Emergency is a child abduction alert system named after Amber Hagerman, a 9-year-old little girl who was abducted and murdered in Arlington, Texas, in 1996. AMBER Alerts are distributed via commercial media stations and on social media. Such an alert was issued recently in Ohio when a 2-year-old was abducted by her own father. The man who saved her is proof that Amber Alerts really do work. The man noticed a car that matched the description of one driven by Tyler Enix, accused of murdering his ex-wife and abducting his 2-year-old daughter, and alerted the authorities.
