The Vein Viewer is a new device that shows where patient’s veins are located without being invasive whatsoever. The device uses harmless near-infrared (NIR) light to detect superficial blood under the skin, and project an image of that blood pattern onto the surface of the skin in real time. Pretty cool, don’t you think? Now if only they’d come up with something to replace injections altogether.
